29 Jan Funding support for overseas study tour
I was working with an elderly palliative care client.
She was dying and the family, who lived overseas, had requested nurturing touch. The son had flown in to be with his mother. Later, after her death, we were chatting and I was talking about how my work was increasingly focused with the oncology community, and in particular, with children who had a cancer diagnosis. And that there was some specialised training that I would like to do, that was available overseas.
Later, inspired by the vision of what I would like to achieve, the family offered to facilitate the funding required. Who the end donors were, I don’t know. The money simply turned up in my bank account. I am so grateful for the support that has allowed my dream to turn into a reality. And for all that will unfold from that generosity.
